Foodtopians in Asheville have a new opportunity to find farm fresh bounty in the city center. Starting Wednesday June 22, a weekly farmer's market will be established in Asheville's beautiful Montford neighborhood. Approximately twenty local vendors will be on hand from 2:00 until 6:00 PM in the parking lot of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, located at 36 Montford Avenue.
This new market was designed to alleviate traffic from the French Broad Food Co-op (FBFC) market that has operated on the same day and time for more than a decade. Parking had become an issue and that's what this new market will provide. The FBFC market will still continue for those who share loyalty to the location, however, Montford residents are excited about the new addition into their neighborhood.
