Forget New York Just Give Me That Countryside

This weekend you can leave the city behind and take a trip across the mountains to visit 41 farms participating in the 2011 Family Farm Tour. Hosted by the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project, or ASAP, this annual tour is a perfect way for you to stock up on some farm fresh bounty while in the Asheville area. The tour runs both Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26 from 1:00 - 6:00 PM. 

The cost to participate depends on what you want to do. It's $25 per carload if you pre-purchase a pass. It's $30 the day of and if you only want to visit individual farms it's only $10 per carload. Grab some friends, some cash and a cooler to store your fresh purchases and plan your route ahead of time.
