It's time to dust off your skis and snowboards! Yesterday's Winter Storm Iago (isn't it silly that snow storms are now named?) dumped a heaping pile of snow at area ski resorts. This is refreshing news for anyone who loves to ski, especially after the warm winter we experienced in 2012. Local ski resorts are currently blowing snow on top of fresh powder and multiple tails are now open.
However, despite being in the direct line of fire for the storm, Asheville is free and clear of any significant snow. This is sad news for everyone in town expecting a snow day, but great news for travelers to the region. Roadways are clear, meaning you have safe passage to the ski resorts.
