New to Asheville's downtown dining scene is Seven Sows Bourbon & Larder. The description on their Twitter account says it all.
"Real straight bourbon. Real Southern food. No gimmicks. No pop culture. No Pretension (well, maybe a little). Renaissance & Modernist Southern Cuisine."
Their menu is filled with southern comfort foods like Buttermilk Hushpuppies served with Hot Pimento Cheese, Pecan Hull Smoked Pork Belly, and Butterscotch Pudding. With so many delectable choices it won't be long before this eatery becomes a downtown hot spot.
The chefs embrace a nose-to-tail philosophy in the kitchen and their recipes are distinctly rooted in southern traditions. For those who love a little adventure with their meals, try the Heritage Farm Pig Head Meatloaf or the Beulah Farms Milk Braised NC Mountain Goat.
Don't Forget the Bourbon
Many of their specialty drinks are bourbon influenced, however they do offer a wide variety of spirits, wine and beer. The must-try drink is one of their signature punches - complex and delicious!
